About Laci

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California. I graduated from Oregon State University in 2018 with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and completed my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2020. I have experience working with adults and families in primary mental health and substance abuse facilities at the residential and outpatient level. I have also spent time providing therapeutic services to incarcerated individuals in California and Oregon state prisons. I use a Gestalt lens with a primary focus on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have experience with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, personality disorders, attachment wounds, impulsivity, and addiction. I am passionate about the importance of therapeutic alliance in increasing accountability, restoring trust within yourself, and finding refuge somewhere you will want to stay.

Why Maeday?

Maeday was carefully chosen with my values at the forefront. No matter where you are in the world, "Mayday" is understood as a distress signal. Maeday believes in the power of human connection to save others. The spelling of this word was chosen to incorporate my middle name, Mae, so that I am always reminded of why I started this journey and why I continue to answer the distress call from a human in need.A secondary motto for Maeday is "hang in there, baby" which was painted on the back of my grandfather's boat where I (and my entire family) learned to water ski as children. This is where my values were built - unrelenting commitment, hard work, and enjoying what the world has to offer.
